STATEMENT BY IRAKLI KOBAKHIDZE, CHAIRMAN OF THE "GEORGIAN DREAM - DEMOCRATIC GEORGIA"

Greetings,

First of all, I would like to respond to the information disseminated by the State Security Service. This information once again proved that the United National Movement is evil – it is a revanchist political force whose sole purpose is to create unrest and chaos in our country.

The state and the authorities are at their best and will not allow anyone to achieve such goals. We thank the State Security Service and every one of its corresponding employees for detecting this plan and responding to it in a timely manner.

No one who aims to attack Georgia’s security and stability will go unpunished. Everyone will be held accountable before the law and in accordance with the law.

The information disseminated by the State Security Service has once again shed light on the real purpose of the simulated chronicle of Mikheil Saakashvili’s hunger strike. The plan was to simulate deteriorating health conditions in order to force the department to relocate Saakashvili to a different location, which would have given the United National Movement a chance to stage a severe provocation. Of course, any such attempt would have been met with a proper response from the state. Today, everyone saw that Saakashvili’s simulated hunger strake is doomed to failure, just like his sneaky method of entering Georgia.

We must also respond to the falsification of the results of the sociological survey by the United National Movement’s partisan television station, Mtavari Arkhi, which once again showed that the false data from previous surveys and exit polls were the result of gross falsification, rather than incompetence. People who rigged elections while in power are now trying to achieve their destructive goals by falsifying surveys and exit polls.

It would be a great mistake to consider these three pieces of information independently. Naturally, Saakashvili’s simulated hunger strike, the falsification of sociological surveys, and the planning of unrest closes the circle, which once again proves the evil nature of the United National Movement and its revolutionary and destructive plans.

I would also like to respond to the departure of Irakli Tavdgiridze, the head of Gakharia’s party’s Batumi organization and the newly elected member of Batumi City Council, from this party and his decision to openly distance himself from the United National Movement’s agenda. Today, everyone who evaluates the events appropriately can see that the public has a clear choice between destruction and peace. Refusing to take a stance, staying at home, and not making a choice during such times means giving destruction a chance. Therefore, we welcome Irakli Tavdgiridze’s principled decision to publicly distance himself from the United National Movement’s agenda.

This country needs peace, stability, and development rather than chaos and unrest.

This is precisely why I urge everyone to come to the elections tomorrow so that we may see the victory of 2 October through to the end.

We call on the representatives of the United National Movement not to dare to stage provocations tomorrow, on Election Day, and to give voters the opportunity to vote in a peaceful environment. We also call on our supporters to face any possible provocations in a peaceful manner. Furthermore, I call on our supporters to film any provocation and to send us the footage or upload it to the social media.

We believe that tomorrow, our citizens will say no to evil, violence, and lies for good, and will support development, peace, and stability, which are essential conditions for economic progress, the employment of people, and the improvement of social conditions.

From the day after the elections, in the coming years, our efforts will be fully directed toward this goal.

I urge you once again to come to the elections!

Once again, say no to the United National Movement, to evil, unrest, and lies!

Choose peace and development!

Vote for our candidates in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Poti, Zugdidi, Telavi, Ozurgeti, Tsalenjikha, Chkhorotsku, Martvili, Senaki, Khobi, Tskaltubo, Baghdati, Tsageri, Khelvachauri, Tianeti, Kareli and Khashuri.

Through our unity, tomorrow we must see the victory of 2 October through to the end!
